Emergency Service Assistant Position

The Christian Ministry Policy and Personnel Committee is seeking applications and resumes for the position of Emergency Services Assistant. 

This position is a 10 hour a week position with opportunity for more hours’ covering when the Emergency Service Coordinator is out, dependent on client level, and helping with our fundraisers. 

The Ministry is looking for an Emergency Services Assistant who will be able to work closely with the ministries clients on a daily basis. This position requires professionalism and delegate diplomacy in dealing with our clients, volunteers and staff. A sense of compassion, patience and fairness is a main quality we are seeking in this position.

Emergency Services Assistant Job Description

1. Interview clients, assess needs and make final decision 

2. Maintain confidential file on clients, daily records and resource file

3. Consult Social Services when appropriate and provide counseling referral

4. Prepare a monthly analysis of services provided by Emergency Service to 

Emergency Services Ministry Group and Quarterly Report to Board

5. Present an Annual Report on Emergency Services 

6. Attend staff, Board of Directors, ministry groups and committee meetings, as 

requested by the Director

7. Supervise distribution of household items

8. Write checks from money allotted per day to help clients 

9. Upon request, assist clients in obtaining spiritual, financial, personal, emotional, 

educational, job related, health related and food assistance

10. Coordinate assistance given to clients with churches 

11. All other duties as required by the Executive Director

Must have completed High School or have GED.
